Inventory App
A high-contrast mobile inventory management app built for field teams working in demanding physical environments.
Challenge
Inventory apps used in warehouses and field operations face a design constraint most enterprise tools ignore: the physical environment. Bright lights, gloves, fast movement, and time pressure mean that legibility and scan-ability are more important than visual elegance. Most tools on the market fail at basic readability.
Approach
We designed for the worst-case usage conditions first. The dark teal palette maintains legibility in high-ambient-light environments, and every key action — scanning, status updates, team assignment — was sized for gloved-finger use and placed in the thumb-reach zone. Notifications were designed to surface urgency clearly without requiring users to read full sentences to understand the action needed.
Outcome
The app works in the conditions where it actually gets used. The three-screen flow covers notifications, team profiles, and inventory view efficiently, and the high-contrast palette ensures critical information is never lost to environmental interference.
