Mane

A hair-loss tracking app that gives men a scientific answer to a question they usually try to avoid.

Mane landing page — dark charcoal-green men's hair-loss tracker, serif headline 'Is it actually changing — or just the lighting?', with a phone mockup comparing crown photos side by side and a +6.4% coverage trend

Challenge

Hair-loss apps are typically clinical or embarrassingly gimmicky. The core problem is that men dealing with early hair loss want data — they want to know if it is actually changing or if they are imagining it. There was a gap for a product that takes the question seriously without stigma.

Approach

We built the product around photo-based comparison: users track their crown over time and see a coverage percentage trend. The charcoal-green color palette is dark and masculine without being aggressive. The landing page headline — 'Is it actually changing — or just the lighting?' — meets users exactly at the moment they first feel uncertain, making the product feel immediately relevant.

Outcome

Mane is a product that users feel comfortable with because it treats their concern as legitimate rather than vain. The dark aesthetic and data-forward approach position it closer to a fitness tracker than a beauty product.
